VOTE FOR ELLIOT WIESNER

I am Elliot Wiesner and I am running for the Upper Freehold Township Committee on the Democratic ticket.

When elected I will:

• Preserve our horse farms and related jobs by working with our state representatives to allow casino gambling at our two Monmouth County racetracks. We need to act aggressively to keep our equestrian industry competitive with PA and NY, and to protect and preserve the value of all our farms.
• Preserve our open spaces and farmland by appointing active liaisons to coordinate with our neighboring towns on cross-border concerns such as open space, road maintenance, school issues, and the proposed pipeline. This sensible, cooperative approach is needed since we share borders with three Counties and eight Townships/ Boroughs.
• Improve communication between Township and residents by keeping the town website up to date. I will make sure that the residents can receive real-time notices about meeting times, changes, or cancelations and I will make sure that meeting agendas are posted in advance.

I am asking for your vote because I have the motivation and experience to be successful as a Township Committee member. Thank you.

Why am I running?

I have been a resident of Upper Freehold Township for twelve years. My wife Linda and I love living in this beautiful, peaceful community. I care about the efficient management of our local government and the decisions that are made on matters that affect our citizens. Running my own law practice, I have experienced financial ups and downs that give me insight into issues faced by small business owners, farmers and homeowners alike. Also, my background in Finance and Law equips me with legal and financial expertise needed to be successful as your next Upper Freehold Township Committee member.

• Appointed to UF Environmental Advisory Committee 2011 to present
• Opposed Rockefeller warehouse proposal 2006 – Raised issues with proposed master plan 2007 – Favored preservation of Breza Road 2008
• On Board of Directors, NJ State Bar Assn., Municipal Court Practice Section from 2010-2017
• Pro Bono Attorney for NJ Public Defender’s Office
• On Cardiac Response Team, Four Seasons at Upper Freehold – 3 years
